Hoppy Easter

Welcome to Wellington’s Easter prep party 2022!

Wellington is checking the eggs for any possible problems. Edward Bear and Sebastian are helping by taste testing.

Bethleann and Georg are packing up wish flowers. Count Donald is of course counting eggs.

Mr Marty and the three lovelies , Terri, Sarah and Jenn, are working on their version of Easter Parade with a bit of Peter Cottontail woven in. Marie Kelly and Clara Leigh are dancing to the snappy medley.

Lewis the Legendary and Hilarey the Mighty are bringing pizza pies for everyone.

Zach, Ben and PJ are displaying a banner they made using left over Signal Corp flag material. It’s hard to see in the picture but Ben is wearing purple, his favorite color.

Martin and Lydia are bringing more eggs from the hen house to be dyed.

Emily Elf is tugging along a huge batch of wedding cookies she baked for the party. Sir Andrew Ant is showing off his newly developed juggling skills. Stephen Stork is quite impressed but he definitely has his eye on those wedding cookies.

Felix and Rhys are in complete awe of how many new amazing friends they have.

Jonquils & Daffodils

Wellington has decided to rest in his flower fields between new adventures and has asked me his official historian to take over this blog. I promise to do my best to keep you up to date on all the happenings in Willis Warren.

Let’s start with book fifteen. Yes, fifteen! The team worked hard through thirteen volumes to finally put that misguided rabbit Black Veil onto a better path. And while the team thought they were ready to do no more than frolic among the jonquils and daffodils they find themselves stumbling onto and into adventures that have nothing to do with Easter or wishflowers.

This year’s book circles Winnie-the-Pooh and the Hundred Aker Wood. You can read it and all of previous volumes by clicking on Wellington Rabbit the Books at the top of the blog. Or better yet get printed and autographed copy(s) for keeps. It’s a send a message and e-money exchange thing. I know. Convoluted. Working on making that process easier but for now it’s awkward.

PS The continuing story by guest writer Sand Ra Leigh about Bo Peep and her pals is not forgotten. Wellington wanted me to assure you about that.

Cherry Blossoms in Bloom

So many thoughts. So much love. Wellington has always been a fan of all things floral but cherry blossoms are especially dear to his heart. They were true favorites of his beloved Uncle Wells. And Wellington needed no encouragement to become equally enchanted. As they bloom this spring Wellington encourages you to stay safe. Stay happy. Stay positive. And he sends his unconditional love.

It’s Almost Easter, NO Fooling

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Can you believe that Easter is just around the corner? Me either. And I’m the one that is supposed to be on top of that. Georg, Bethleann & I have been really busy getting everything ready for the big day.

All the family youngsters are helping dye eggs and gather wishflower seeds for Georg. You do recall that Georg delivers wishflowers, right?

What’s a wishflower some of you ask. A wishflower is a very special Easter treat for all the children who cannot receive an egg filled Easter basket. Georg sows these special seeds all over the world every year. After the seeds sprout, flower and mature, if a child finds one and makes a wish while scattering the puffball AND if a fairy catches it the wish will come true. Some people call wishflowers dandelions but their true name is wishflower.

Oops I need to scoot. Edward & Sebastian just spilled dye all over their fur.

It’s PI Day Or Pie Day

March 14, 2018

Pie Day is my preferred way to honor this day. But since it actually is all about numbers, Pi Day, as Count Donald reminds us, is how this day works.

Count Donald can have his numbers including that tedious Mersenne prime. Did you know there is a new one? And naturally Count Donald contributed heavily to its discovery in December 2017. That makes the count up to an even 50, hardly a prime of any kind. When I started telling my tales there were 48 Mersenne primes. See what I mean about things ever changing? There’s more about Count Donald and his search for a Mersenne prime in Book 3, Wellington Rabbit Finds Help Along the Way.

Meanwhile I, on the other hand, will merrily, or cheerily since I’m making cherry pies, bake a few pies. Organic cherry pies. And then eat them. With homemade organic vanilla ice cream. Of course I will also share them. That’s what I and my stories are all about. Sharing life’s adventures. And spreading love.

Happy Pi Pie Day!

It SNOWED Last Night

March 13, 2o18

It didn’t snow very much. But when you’re an Easter bunny snow is a big deal. We’re used to fresh flowers, spring grasses and warm breezes. We tend to hibernate rather like a bear when it’s cold and wet. But not when there’s snow. That’s a reason to hop about.

It was a very quick snow and it was a very dark part of the night. I do wonder why it always seems to snow in the dark. I have no good answer for that actually.

In other news, I went to Great Gut Deli today. It’s on a road named Thicket Lump. Georg should like that name. Or maybe he would not like it. He got stuck in a brambles thicket in my first book. But then if he had not gotten stuck we never would have met so I consider that a good thing. And as it is also how Georg (and me too) came to met Bethleann (in book two), who is now his lovely bride. Oops I gave away a few plot lines for new readers. Oh well, they’re not such big secrets any longer. Anyway, I am certain that Georg is very fond of thickets after all is said and done.

The Very FIRST Letter From Wellington

March 12, 2018

Hello Friends!

I’m so hopped up to have my very own website. It’s a work in progress, just like me. Wait. What. You thought that I was all polished and complete. Well almost, but like most everything there’s always room to grow.

It’s a blustery day here on the OBX where my scribe resides. We are in constant contact through the WEB you see. Not THAT WEB, my WEB. Betcha didn’t know that when we started my stories together the internet WEB barely existed. In fact THAT WEB is 29, twenty-nine! years old TODAY. It came into the public eye at almost the exact same time as my WEB. Isn’t that the best? My scribe had no idea what I was talking about when I kept mentioning the WEB. But she trusted me and asked few questions. My WEB is the one where all Easter bunnies go when their job is finished to hang out with their friends and play endless games of hopscotch which they all excel. It’s short for our names which always middle and end in Easter Bunny. The start can be an W name freely given without ulterior motives lurking.

Pretty cool eh. From one WEB to another in the flick of a whisker. Still ironing the kinks out of having my own internet WEB site but soon I’ll have all of my books here on their own page and I’ll write letters to you very often telling about so many interesting things.

Until we chat again because I hope we do through comments that you are so welcome to leave, have fun and spread love.
